There’s a pretty good chance that if you’re looking at homes in The Ridges, you or someone you love plays golf. But there are plenty of other reasons to consider living in 68130. Yes, the boundaries of The Ridges neighborhood surround Shadow Ridge Country Club and its championship golf course. And, The Ridges Community is indeed the largest private residential golf community in Nebraska, guaranteeing you a home on or near the links. But The Ridges neighborhood also offers access to highly ranked Elkhorn public schools and the amenities and attractions of surrounding South Elkhorn. Additionally, residents praise The Ridges HOA as one of the most dedicated of metro Omaha neighborhood associations with credit due for monthly events including Fireworks Extravaganza in June, Ice Cream Socials in September and Easter Egg Hunts in March.

The Ridges is literally surrounded on three sides by the expansive South Elkhorn neighborhood which is known for its access to seemingly endless shopping, dining, musical and artistic venues. Homes in The Ridges generally exceed 3,500 square feet, and many can reach over 10,000 square feet. A well-maintained brick New Traditional from 1994 with four bedrooms and over a quarter acre lot, was recently listed for $600,000. A four-bedroom, two-story New Traditional with 4,800 square feet and no backyard neighbors can be found for $595,000. A custom-built six-bedroom, 10-bathroom executive mansion on the 16th fairway was recently listed for $2,950,000.

The Ridges neighborhood is assigned to the desirable Elkhorn school district. Spring Ridge Elementary offers Pre-K through fifth grade and ranks in the top 20% of Nebraska public schools for Math and Reading/Language Arts Proficiency. Elkhorn Ridge Middle offers a highly regarded Career Awareness Program where partnerships with local businesses connect students with real-world skills and career guidance. Elkhorn South High is rated A-plus by Niche and offers 14 AP classes. Notably, 95% of graduates continue to college and university.

Although there are no city or county parks in the neighborhood, you won’t notice thanks to the proliferation of mature trees along every street and the beauty of the surrounding golf course. Water sport and outdoor enthusiasts are just a 10-minute drive to popular Zorinsky Lake with more than 255 acres and excellent fishing and boating. Adjoining Zorinsky Park offers two modern playgrounds, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, a football field, and endless hiking and bike trails. Camp Zorinsky is a summertime local favorite, too.

Lazlo’s Brewery & Grille is known for their hand-crafted burgers, fresh-only sides and local craft beers. Try their Lazlo Burger or the Shoulda Woulda Gouda burger. Pacific Eating House will delight seafood fans with their fresh-caught and flown-in salmon, halibut and tuna. On Monday through Wednesdays, they donate $1.00 to local high school bands when diners order from the Prix-Fixe menu.

With easy access to both I-275 and Pacific Street, shopping trips are a breeze. Mainstream Boutique is a nationwide, family-owned franchise that offers multi-generation fashions and accessories for women. Mesh offers youthful, chic apparel and accessories at affordable prices. Bakers grocery store is a short drive to Lakeside Hills Plaza, and Target is minutes away by car on West Center Road.

If a stately home on the links with views of the rolling hills of west Omaha is your dream, grab your keys and head over to The Ridges. There may only be a handful of homes available at any one time, but as with putting, playing the long game tends to pay off.
