Walkability to downtown Oxnard for less money
Settled about 5 miles from the beach and a mile south of downtown, Cal-Gisler's residential streets offer great walkability without being too far from the surf. "You can get a decent home for less money here because it's slightly removed from the oceanfront and the freeways," says Realtor Xavier Flores with Keller Williams West Ventura County, who specializes in Oxnard and Ventura. The urban-grid streets are packed with ranch-style homes, but small yards and shady coastal trees give a breezy suburban feel. "These streets were developed in the 1950s, and the location is still pretty quiet, so it feels like stepping back into old suburbia," says Flores. The older homes and casual walkability create a small community feel where folks are drawn to settle down.
