"Lots of people here work at Port Hueneme, and this is also one of the closer neighborhoods to Oxnard College and Channel Islands University," says Castillo, "so you have all kinds of employment just a few miles from your house."

Mix of midcentury homes and condos
Streets of midcentury homes surrounding Pleasant Valley Park make up the bulk of the neighborhood. These homes are on the smaller side, but they still offer more square footage and lawn space than most in South Oxnard.
