Luxury golf communities near the beach
Old Palm is a residential pocket bordered by Interstate 95, Florida’s Turnpike and PGA Boulevard. The area is named after Old Palm, a gated golf course community. Other communities in the area include Westwood Gardens, Bent Tree and The Artistry subdivisions. You have easy access to I-95, and you’re roughly 15 minutes from the beach.
High-end properties and distinct subdivisions to meet a variety of needs
Old Palm features an 18-hole course designed by Raymond Floyd, and multi-million-dollar homes. “It’s a great community,” says Realtor Vince Marotta, the top producer for Illustrated Properties for four years in a row. He also sold the two most expensive houses in the history of Old Palm, priced at $20 million and $22.5 million. “When I get a client in that price range of $4 million and up, it becomes a lifestyle question. If they want golfing and boating, I show them Admiral’s Cove. If they want privacy and a low-density community, I show them Bear’s Club. And if they want a fun, young membership group, I show them Old Palm.” Marotta explains that houses were primarily Mediterranean when the community started in the early 2000s. Since then, house styles transitioned into a contemporary style as custom builders started designing and building homes. Homes fall into three categories: the golf estates, the grand estates and the custom estates. The golf estates properties are roughly a quarter of an acre, and priced between $4 million and $5 million. The grand estates are half-acre properties priced at $6 million to $10 million, and the 1-acre, estate-sized properties can be priced at $10 million and up. The club has undergone major renovations, such as the installation of two huge health and wellness facilities, and turning the underutilized clubhouse pool into a casual dining area. The club membership director plans events that bring the community together, including special events for the kids, like a Halloween Party and other holiday celebrations.
Houses in the other subdivisions can range from $800,000 for a New Traditional Craftsman in the Bent Tree community, to $3.2 million for a new construction, Mediterranean-style house in The Artistry subdivision with a lake view. Most new construction in the area is in The Artistry subdivision. Townhouses can range between $400,000 to $700,000, depending on the size and condition. Condos are an option as well.
Multiple school options in Old Palm
Students have a couple of school paths they can follow. Those who live in the Old Palm community and in the subdivisions east of it can attend Timber Trace Elementary School, Duncan Middle School and Palm Beach Gardens Community High School. The elementary and middle schools are a short drive away, just off Central Boulevard. Palm Beach Gardens High, graded B-plus on Niche, offers the award-winning Five Star Magnet Program with programs like culinary arts and pre-medicine. Students who live north of the Old Palm community can attend Marsh Pointe Elementary, Duncan Middle and Dwyer High School. Dwyer High, graded A on Niche, offers a variety of academic programs including the International Baccalaureate Program. Franklin Academy, a B-graded public charter school serving elementary and middle school students, is also an option.
Groceries, The Gardens Mall, and more shopping and dining options
Grocery shop at the Publix Super Market at Mirasol Walk west of Florida’s Turnpike, or the one on the area’s east side at Garden Square. You’ll pass The Fresh Market on PGA Boulevard along the way. The Gardens Mall a 10-minute drive away, near Whole Foods, is a high-end retail shopping destination with stores like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci and more. Keep driving east on PGA Boulevard, and you’ll reach other retail stores like T.J. Maxx and Marshalls. You’ll find restaurants and boutiques along PGA Boulevard, like the stores at PGA Commons. Enjoy an elegant, fine-dining experience with classic Italian cuisine at La Masseria. At J. Alexander's, get classic, wood-fired American meals from prime rib to fresh seafood and sandwiches.
Clubhouse amenities, beach access, and a large park
Residents of Old Palm have access to clubhouse amenities, like the health and wellness facilities and the golf course. “The club has reciprocity with the Hilton on Singer Island, and residents have access to beach services,” adds Marotta. “It’s about 15 to 20 minutes away on PGA Boulevard, which takes you right to Singer Island.” While the Old Palm residential area is roughly 15 minutes from the beach, you don’t have to go far to spend time outdoors. The Gardens North County District Park covers 82 acres, and has several multi-purpose fields, a nature trail and walking areas, two playgrounds and a splash pad.
