Most homes in Vista Las Palmas are midcentury modern or desert modern houses, a style that Palm Springs has become known for over the years. Architects Charles Dubois and William Krisel are responsible for many of the neighborhood's designs, including A-frame, butterfly and batwing roof styles. Homes often have white stucco or stone exteriors or sometimes a mix of both. Large windows make up much of the homes, letting in plenty of the California sun. With tall palm trees and desert mountains above, residents can relax on their outdoor patio or in the backyard swimming pool as they take in the views. Houses with 2,000 square feet start at around $2 million, while 3,000-square-foot homes can cost up to $4 million. Homebuyers should be aware of the wildfire risk in the neighborhood, which Risk Factor calculates at somewhere between 0.2% and 0.5%, higher than much of Palm Springs.

Cultural experiences and outdoor recreation nearby
There are no city parks within Vista Las Palmas, but several public green spaces are nearby. Ruth Hardy Park is a popular spot with eight tennis courts, three volleyball courts and a basketball court. Residents can enjoy a competitive game amongst friends or get together with family for a picnic at the park. France Stevens Park is a small green space between Palm Canyon Drive and Indian Canyon Drive. The park has an open grassy area, picnic tables and public art installations. It is also home to the Desert Art Center, a local non-profit that hosts exhibits and offers art classes to the public. Easy to walk or drive around Palm Springs
Vista Las Palmas is a walkable neighborhood, whether walking to dinner downtown or just going for a relaxing stroll. "It's one of the most walkable neighborhoods. There's a road called Rose Avenue that is probably one of the two or three most walked roads in Palm Springs," says Commandeur. Residents can enjoy a walk along the neighborhood streets, greeting neighbors along the way. For a trip into town, Palm Canyon Drive and all its popular restaurants are just a few blocks east. There are also multiple bus routes along Palm Canyon Drive that take residents to nearly every corner of the city. For longer travels, Palm Springs International Airport is just 4 miles east, a drive that takes about 10 minutes.
