A classic South Florida suburb
Situated in West Palm Beach’s southern suburbs, Berkshire is a primarily residential neighborhood close to various eateries, markets and state parks. These pastel homes and condos are just 5 miles from Palm Beach, surrounded by local thoroughfares and public transit stops for an easy commute. Latin bakeries and restaurants offer everything from traditional pastries to beers and the latest soccer game. Meanwhile, Palm Beach County Schools provide nearby students with enrichment opportunities in the sciences and arts. Close to the beach but far enough from the downtown scene to enjoy the quiet, Berkshire is a soft place to land for folks in search of a classic South Florida suburb.
Pastels and palm trees in Berkshire
Pastel ranch-style homes rest along the curved sidewalks of Berkshire, often adorned with South Florida’s tropical greenery. Many feature short driveways leading to attached carports rather than garages. Square green lawns almost resemble turf, sprouting with classic palm trees. These single-family homes are typically priced between $300,000 and $500,000, but potential homebuyers can also find townhomes and condominiums throughout Berkshire for less. Priced between $250,000 and $325,000, the Somerset community offers townhomes with Spanish-influenced red terracotta roofs surrounding a central lake. Meanwhile, across the way, Timberline offers condos with attached garages and small garden features.

South Military Trail’s Latin markets and eateries
Though Belluno Pizza is just blocks from most homes, South Military Trail boasts many Latin-inspired markets and eateries. Al Pan Pan Bakery’s glass cases are filled with traditional Latin pastries, which pair well with coffee and the latest soccer game. Nearby, Los Brothers Food Truck serves up Latin American fusion, from tres leches cake to burgers and limonadas. Groceries are less than a mile west, where Publix anchors Polo Grounds Mall. There is a neighborhood Walmart off Forest Hill Boulevard, as well. But Presidente Supermarket is a popular international staple, offering provisions beyond the standard American shopping list.
