Refined residential neighborhood dotted with golf courses
Rolling hills covered in mature trees and private country clubs make up The Pinery, an affluent residential neighborhood about 31 miles south of Denver. Multiple subdivisions define the area, each dotted with luxury homes and green spaces. “There are just not a lot of neighborhoods like it,” says Real Estate Agent Phillip Booghier with LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, who is also a member of The Pinery Country Club. “The Pinery is anything but cookie-cutter. The houses they’re building are all custom.”
The Pinery is in Douglas County and is one of the best places to live in Colorado.
The Lake Nine course at The Pinery Country Club offers the most exquisite views on the property.

Custom-built single-family homes and estates
The Pinery is filled with unique housing options, where no two properties are alike. Most homes are found along winding roads, sitting on large, landscaped lots that are speckled with mature trees. The neighborhood is sectioned off into multiple communities. Closer to South Parker Road, within High Prairie Farms, homes are smaller and were built in the 1970s to 2000s. Contemporary multi-story homes with simple exterior designs are common, and there are a handful of ranch-style homes with cabin aesthetics. These properties span 2,100 to 4,600 square feet and cost $575,000 to $1 million. The community surrounding The Pinery Country Club has notably larger properties that are more spread out. These resort-style luxury homes were built in the 2000s and 2020s and share Craftsman features such as multiple front gables, pointed roofs and stone accent walls. Prices fall between $990,000 and $1.6 million for homes that span 4,600 to 6,000 square feet.
As The Pinery expands outward, away from the residential communities, property sizes grow. “There’s a huge difference if you want to live north of Pinery Parkway or south. The price nearly doubles,” Booghier says. Modern estates within the Timbers community can get up to 8,000 square feet. These homes come in a variety of housing styles, from luxury resort to Craftsman and Tucson-inspired. Regal gardens with trimmed shrubs and pebbled walkways add a sense of grandeur. Prices for these estates sit between $1.3 million and $2.8 million, depending on size and location. The CAP Index crime score for The Pinery is 1 out of 10, which is much lower than the national average of 4.

Bringing The Pinery community together
The Pinery community comes with a homeowners association that looks after the area and helps maintain standards. Additionally, the group hosts annual events. “They do a picnic every year by Bingham Lake where they have food and games and prizes. Even a petting zoo – the whole shebang,” Booghier says. The HOA also coordinates an annual neighborhood-wide garage sale.
The Pinery's Bingham Lake is enjoyed by hikers, mountain bikers, dog enthusiasts and fisherman.

Private and public recreational facilities
The Pinery’s landscape of rolling hills, flowing creeks and pine and ponderosa trees help foster a serene neighborhood surrounded by the outdoors. The Pinery Country Club is the area’s main draw, with an exclusive clubhouse and amenities such as three nine-hole golf courses, three swimming pools, tennis courts and a practice facility. Though private, homeowners of The Pinery are not required to join the country club, nor do members have to live nearby. Bingham Lake is tucked between the greenways for catch-and-release fishing. Roughly 3 miles west, The Club at Pradera is the sister golf course to The Pinery and offers a Junior Golf Academy. “Oddly enough, there are a lot of country clubs and golfing in the area, but there are a lot of variances to each one,” Booghier says. Farther South into the Timbers community, the Colorado Horse Park provides professional training and hosts equestrian shows and competitions.
In addition to its country clubs, the neighborhood has a handful of public community parks. Pinery Park has a large open field, plus two playgrounds, a basketball court and a baseball diamond. Farther south, Bayou Gulch Regional Park sits along its namesake water stream. It has a full-size synthetic turf field for football and lacrosse, plus a playscape with a kid-sized climbing wall. The recreational area surrounding Bayou Gulch has walking trails and a BMX pump track that winds past the Bayou Gulch Dog Park. Other pocket parks are attached to communities throughout the neighborhood, including Alden Park, Nuthatch and Lakeshore Park.
The Pinery boasts 27 holes of magnificent golf & an array of tennis, dining & social amenities.

Parker’s nearby retail and restaurants
Since The Pinery itself is primarily residential, shopping and dining require traveling. “The great thing about The Pinery is its access to everything. Parker is a hop, skip and jump away, and you’re also like 20 minutes from Castle Rock,” Booghier says. The Stroh Ranch shopping center is about 3 miles north on South Parker Road and has a King Soopers. Parker Pour House is a bar and grill eatery with craft beer and bar food. There’s also Antonio’s Pizza Pasta Wings for casual Italian. A commercial center in Parker is about 6 miles away on Pavilion Drive and has several other options, including chain restaurants, such as Texas Roadhouse and IHOP. National retailers in the area include Home Depot, Target and Office Depot. There’s also a Walmart Supercenter. Farther north is Parker’s city center, where Main Street is lined with local restaurants like Rory’s Diner and Black + Haus Tavern.
The Pinery is also close to local retail and restaurants.

I have loved living up in Parker CO, although it has been growing a bit. As a teenager there have been lots of things to do with my friends even just in the Pinery there are plenty of parks, forest areas, a lake to hang out at. I feel very safe in the neighboorhood and it is very easy to find your way from any point. A bunch of my family lives in the Pinery and it has been a blessing for family to be this close. The Pinery is definitely kid-friendly, there is a ton of kids even on my street, which I babysit for. I will miss it when I go off to college

I love where we live, here in the Pinery, halfway between Parker and Franktown. We're on the edge of the black forest. Lots of ponderosa and other pine trees. Lots of wildlife including deer, wild turkeys, foxes, rabbits, etc. It's a wonderful community. Parker is a great city - lots to do and lots of resources, but still maintains that small town feel.
