Smaller communities with their own styles
Boca Winds lies on the western side of Palm Beach County, offering suburban convenience, top-rated schools and a wide variety of housing options just a few miles from sunny beaches or wetland wilderness. The larger neighborhood of Boca Winds features several smaller subdivisions, each with its own style and community amenities. For example, the namesake Boca Winds community is full of large Spanish-style homes surrounding a private lake, while nearby subdivisions under the Loggers Run management umbrella showcase villas and townhouses along wood- and plant-themed street names. Palmetto Pines has neighborhood pods where streets all start with the same letter, so a home on Gantry Street might have neighbors on Galahad and Gable Street. "Since it's on the western side, you're right up against the Everglades, and there's not a lot of traffic," says Chris Cusimano, Realtor and team lead at Homes by Cusi Real Estate. "It's quieter, the schools are excellent, and it's great for families."
Varied picks for housing
Because Boca Winds consists of so many different subdivisions, housing styles and prices vary significantly. Many single-family houses are Mediterranean-influenced ranch-style and two-story homes with pronounced front-facing garages. Some houses, including manufactured homes, are neutral or pastel-colored with gray or brown slate roofs, while others are warm-toned ranch and foursquare houses with copper tile roofs. Most homes have driveways surrounded by well-kept lawns. Prices generally range from $450,000 to $700,000, with homes in the Boca Winds and Lexington Estates subdivisions in the $600,000-$1.2 million range. Condos and townhouses in the area are $200,000-$480,000. HOA fees are anywhere from under $100 to $550.
Highly-rated West Boca Raton High School
Students living in the Boca Winds neighborhood can attend Coral Sunset Elementary School, which is located right in the neighborhood and rated B-plus on Niche. Loggers' Run Community Middle School serves Grades 6 through 8 and is rated A-minus. West Boca Raton Community High School, rated A-plus, offers Choice Academies in subjects like aviation and aerospace, medical sciences, and performing arts.
Loggers Run Park and nature preserves
Loggers Run Park is a popular choice for area residents. The 54-acre park has plenty of green space, a nature trail, an exercise course with seven stations, and play structures for kids of different ages. The park is dog-friendly and adjacent to the Boca Raton Nature Reserve. This peaceful conservation area features hiking trails and scenic views of the wetland ecosystem, with a multitude of wildlife on display. The neighborhood also borders the Fran Reich Preserve, a 1,660-acre nature preserve named for a local community activist. This area serves as a wetland buffer to help maintain proper water levels and prevent drought or flooding by collecting and storing urban runoff. The nearby Boca Woods Country Club offers two championship golf courses, a fitness room and spa, and updated facilities. The Shoppes at Loggers Run has Game of Axes Boca, an axe-throwing bar, and La-La Land, an indoor playground. Further away, the Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park is a massive green space with courts, a waterpark, a dog park, an amphitheater, a lake with docks for boating and fishing, and more.
Italian classics at Baffi’s, Brazilian bakeries
Walmart, Aldi, and Target are all just outside the neighborhood at the corner of West Palmetto Park Road and Highway 441. Down the street, Estac¸a~o do Pa~o Bakery is a restaurant that offers authentic Brazilian breakfast, lunch, dinner, a buffet, and catering. They also host special holiday menus and karaoke nights in their modern and bright interior. Next door, Baffi’s Italian Restaurant and Pizza is a simple eatery serving classic Italian fare. Highly rated on Google, their featured dishes include tiramisu, linguini carbonara, and prosciutto e fungui pizza, alongside many halal options.
Main thoroughfare Highway 441
The primarily car-dependent Boca Winds relies on Palmetto Park Road and Highway 441 as its main thoroughfares. Highway 441 runs all the way from Royal Palm Beach to downtown Miami. The bus stops in the neighborhood can also be found along this road. The beach is about 12 miles from the neighborhood. Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport is the closest commercial passenger airport, about 30 miles away. The nearest hospital is the West Boca Medical Center, less than 3 miles away from the center of the neighborhood.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
