People like that it's mostly empty half the year with a lot of homeowners being gone from November to April." While roughly 6,000 residents live year-round in Pembroke Park, the number begins to double as soon as the leaves fall. With a "Great location between Fort Lauderdale and Miami," as well as plenty of businesses and shopping in the area, Pembroke Park offers residents a mix of convenience and laid-back living.

Due to its desirable location along Dade and Broward county lines, Pembroke Park has a large number of businesses for the size of the relatively small neighborhood, and many more businesses are available in the wider area, Aventura Shopping Center being just four miles down the road. There are more than 700 businesses in the neighborhood, as reflected in the town’s motto, “The Small Town that Means Big Business.” From banks to industrial supply companies and everything in between, Pembroke Park is home to a plethora of businesses as well as a section of restaurants, making life convenient for residents. For groceries, a local Winn-Dixie provides a quality option just across Interstate 95. One popular restaurant in the area, Frenchie’s Bar and Grill, is particularly popular amongst the neighborhood's French-Canadian snowbirds and offers Montreal staples like smoked meat poutine. Another local option is Alex Latin Caribbean and American Restaurant, where residents can sit down for a large plate of pork, bean and cheese pupusas with a side of fried plantains, followed by a cup of robust coffee, all at a relatively inexpensive cost. Those who like Honduran and Central American cuisine will love being able to take home leftovers from the restaurant's generous serving sizes.

Entertainment in western Hollywood

About 2 miles southeast, residents can enjoy year-round watersport activities and saltwater fishing at Hallandale Beach and its boardwalk. Heading outdoors in Pembroke Park

Local parks in the neighborhood border residential areas and offer residents easy access to green space. The 13-acre Pembroke Park Preserve has four pavilions with barbeque stations, stations to exercise on as well as a meeting facility and an environmental education center. Residents can head out for a jog along the park's paved trails or head over to Ives Estate Park for a great time playing on the park's playground.
