Southern California Railway Museum is a gathering place
The southern edge of Westside Perris is close to the Southern California Railway Museum, considered the most extensive rail museum in the Western U.S. Besides its collection of artifacts dating to the 1870s, the museum hosts several community events yearly. Day out with Thomas in November is among them, an event that offers rides on a model Thomas the Train. There are also multiple car shows, including Rods & Rails in June. The events draw visitors from out of town, Franco says. “I know they’re well attended,” he says. “When my kids were little, we would go to the Thomas the Train. They have that event every year.”
