Suburbs close to bustling waterfront city
Spa Springs is a suburb of Perth Amboy, a former resort town that’s now its own bustling city just 20 miles south of Manhattan. “Part of the appeal is its location. If you have to go north, south or over the Staten Island Bridge, there’s easy access,” says Yolanda Flores, a Realtor with Keller Williams by the Bay, who’s been selling homes in the area since 2014. While most of Perth Amboy is a compact coastal city, Spa Springs sits a few miles away from the waterfront and offers larger homes with front and backyards. The neighborhood also holds the brand-new Perth Amboy High, which opened in 2024 and is one of the largest high school in the state. Despite being a more traditionally suburban neighborhood, residents still have quick access to the city’s shopping and dining hubs, as well as NJ Transit options.
