Suburban community in Pinole near San Pablo Bay
Situated in the rolling hills of Contra Costa County, Pinole Valley, California has a rich history that dates to its indigenous origins. The city’s name, Pinole, is derived from a native grain fed to the Spanish explorers by the Lisjan people when they ran out of food. In honor and thanks for their support, they later named the town after the grain, which ensured their survival. Today, this vibrant neighborhood is known for its convenience and nearby views of the breathtaking San Pablo Bay. “Pinole Valley is beautiful all around, filled with rolling hills and trees. Everywhere you look, it’s green,” says Gary Torretta, Realtor with Security Pacific Real Estate, who was born and raised in Pinole and has been in real estate for over 30 years. “The weather is truly amazing year-round. Since it’s close to the bay, it never gets the severe weather that other areas around here experience.”
