Quiet suburban living in Texas
On the northeastern outskirts of Plano, Stoney Hollow offers a quiet, suburban atmosphere just about five miles from downtown and locally-owned restaurants and stores. Along its streets, lined with flowers and large, traditionally-styled homes, residents might see their neighbors walking furry friends or going for a jog. From a popular park within the boundaries of the neighborhood to an immense park just west, where spectators gather each year to watch hot-air balloons ascend skyward, the reserved vibe of Stoney Hollow is among its most appealing aspects. “It’s also close to the Collin College campus,” says Drew Burgess, a broker associate with the Burgess Group at Keller Williams Dallas. “That’s a really popular draw, and it’s a nice, beautiful area.”

Traditional homes with brick and stone flair
Along the relatively wide, flat streets of the Stoney Hollow neighborhood, many homes here are built in traditional styles. These are large, multi-level residences with stone or brick exteriors, other property flair includes meticulous landscaping, Cape Cod-inspired designs on upper-level windows and more. Prices typically range from between $550,000 to about $800,000, though on occasion a home will be listed in the million-dollar range or higher. “Stoney Hollow mostly has the typically larger, 3,000 square feet-plus, traditional-style homes of the Plano area,” Burgess says. “There’s also some ranch-style homes and bungalows as well.” Homes in Stoney Hollow were almost exclusively built in the 1990s and 2000s.

Heading west for eats, retail and more
Since Stoney Hollow is almost entirely residential, those living in the neighborhood will have to venture beyond its boundaries to find local shopping and dining outlets. To the west, K Avenue has a number of local eateries on and around it like Poor Richard’s Café, the Fillmore Pub and Lemma Coffee Co. "People also frequent locally-owned places like Hutchins BBQ for their delicious barbecue," says Levi Lascsak, a Realtor with EXP Realty with more than four years of experience in the area. "Milo's has elevated comfort food, and national chains like P.F. Chang's and Red Lobster are also nearby." Locals can find groceries at Target and Costco locations along the North Central Expressway, farther west of K Avenue, or at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on East Park Boulevard to the south.
