The Maryland town brushes against the western edge of Montgomery County, six miles from the gentle curve of the Potomac River. “Poolesville has an isolated small-town feel, but it’s connected to the larger world,” says Assistant Town Manager Niles Anderegg. “It’s a nice, proud, well-integrated small town.” With Baltimore’s harbor just 55 miles west and the nation’s capital 30 miles south, it’s also a haven for commuters.
Many homes in Poolesville boast massive yards, some even have pools.
