An nature lover's dream

The neighborhood of Rosser Reserve, located in the southwest corner of Port St. Lucie, has a well-earned reputation as a destination for outdoor enthusiasts thanks to O.L. Peacock Sr. Park, a 110-acre paradise that just happens to be home to one of the largest natural lakes in the region. But the chance to catch bluegill and largemouth bass is not the only reason people call Rosser Reserve home. Affordable houses, good schools and easy access to the rest of the state are also in the tacklebox of this South Florida enclave.

Peacock Park is located in the neighborhood

“Peacock Park is really nice,” says Mark Naumovitz, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty of Port St. Lucie who sells throughout the area. “You can walk your dog, there are trails, it’s easy to drop your kayak in the lake and do some fishing.” Another spot nearby, Woodland Trails Park, is a little smaller but equally green and filled with open fields, a playground with sensory play elements, and a sidewalk-style walking path that winds throughout. There’s also a dog park where residents take their fur babies to throw the ball around.

Custom contemporary and ranch-style homes are abundant

The homes in Rosser Reserve were built in the 1990s and early 2000s, though it’s possible to find homes from the 2020s, too. Architectural styles are custom contemporary and ranch-style, with low-pitched roofs and two-car garages. Houses sit a bit close, neatly lined up along the streets, but lawns are big, giving residents plenty of space for backyard pools and decks. While the streets lack sidewalks, they are wide and quiet enough for bike riding and dog walking, and small clusters of trees are scattered throughout the neighborhood, offering shade from the hot Florida sun. Prices range from $270,000 for three bedrooms and two bathrooms to $575,000 for four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and residents enjoy no HOA fees. Regarding crime, Rosser Reserve scores a 3 out of 10 on the CAP Index, one point lower than the national average.
