Suburban neighborhood next to two major highways

Located 6 miles from downtown Pueblo, Ridge is a suburban neighborhood defined by convenience. With Interstate 25 and Highway 50 at its borders, the community has access to most of Pueblo as well as the extensive retail and restaurant options along the way. Ridge is also one of the few Pueblo neighborhoods expanding with newly constructed homes from the last five years. “It’s affordable; a single-family home in Pueblo around that area can be $250,000,” says Katie Ely, a Realtor at The Cutting Edge, Realtors, who’s been selling homes in the Pueblo area for over five years. “It’s $100,000 more in Colorado Springs for a similar style home.”

Large selection of big box retailers and local joints on Highway 50

Big box retailers, fast-food chains and restaurants line Highway 50 and Elizabeth Street. Love Mug Coffee Shop handles the mornings with its espresso beverages and all-day breakfast menu. Southwest Grill is a homey sit-down restaurant that serves American breakfast and lunch staples like omelets and sandwiches. Wonderful Bistro off Elizabeth Street provides a traditional Chinese-American menu. Along Dillon Drive are several big retailers, such as Walmart Supercenter, T.J. Maxx, Barnes and Noble and The Home Depot. Groceries can be bought from Albertsons or Sam’s Club.

Numerous subdivisions and newer builds

Buyers will notice that the further west they go, the quieter it is with less car traffic. The community has a few subdivisions, including Eagleridge, Sawyer Ridge and Northridge. Some of them have monthly HOA fees to help cover landscape maintenance. Most single family homes have garages and sit on lot sizes of 10th to a third of an acre. Manufactured homes can be found on the north and south ends, with prices ranging from $28,000 to $130,000. Twenty first century contemporary ranch-style and traditional split-level homes are scattered, with homes selling between $300,000 and $500,000 for a new build. Closer to the northwest corner are contemporary and Craftsman two-story homes built in the 2020s. Prices in this area range between $230,000 to $480,000.

Convenient access to Highway 50 and I-25

The neighborhood is bordered by major highways, Highway 50 and Interstate 25. Highway 50 runs east to west through Pueblo; from here, Canon City is 36 miles west. Interstate 25 runs north to south through the mountain region, accessing Colorado Springs in 40 miles and Denver in 108 miles. “Those in the Army at Fort Carson, which is at the southwest hip of Colorado Springs, may have a better commute from Pueblo,” Ely says. “If you’re in the military, your commute back and forth to Fort Carson is 30 to 35 minutes. It takes so much longer from Colorado Springs because there’s traffic and all the ongoing construction.”
