Hastings Farms offers community living in a fast-growing town
Hastings Farms is a master-planned community built around playgrounds, trails and views of the San Tan Mountains. Situated within one of the fastest-growing towns in Arizona, locals have a near-endless array of amenities within a short drive of home, and the town is constantly growing. "We have the demographics and the financial means, so the growth that's happening, the infrastructure that's happening is immediate," says local Realtor Susan Bermudez of LPT Realty, LLC, who specializes in the area. Queen Creek overflows with family-friendly entertainment and is known for its top-rated schools. Hastings Farms low CAP Index Crime Score of 1 out of 10, versus the national average of 4, also appeals to homebuyers looking to set down roots.
Students get a top-tier education
Students attend the Queen Creek Unified School District. They may start at Queen Creek Elementary School, earning an A-minus on Niche, before filtering into Newell Barney Junior High School, which scores an A. The elementary school caters to different learning paces through various customized programs, including a gifted program. Crimson High School opened in 2022 and has yet to earn a Niche score.
Sports parks, trails and nearby golfing keep locals active
Neighborhood parks have playgrounds and basketball courts, and the Queen Creek Wash trail runs adjacent to Hastings Farms along the town's namesake creek. It was extended in 2024 to become an 11-mile loop used frequently by horseback riders. Part of the trail connects to Mountain Park, which has staging areas for horses. The largest and currently newest park near Queen Creek is Frontier Family Park, around 5 miles away. Like many area parks, it prioritizes sports by offering full-sized ball fields, several multi-purpose fields and sports courts, but it also has an inclusive playground and a large fishing lake. Las Colinas Golf Club is a public championship golf course within 3 miles. Phoenix gets extremely hot during the summer, leading many to stay indoors.
Tons of family-friendly fun in the area
Bermudez says Queen Creek is the “new Scottsdale for families” for its abundance of activities and there’s a bounty to choose from within just 3 miles of Hastings Farms. Schnepf Farms has a petting zoo and hosts Christmas at the Farm in December, when it opens its ice-skating rink. Pecan Lake Entertainment opened its initial phase in 2024. The venue’s signature rope course is a huge draw. Fat Cats is across from the venue with a bowling alley, movie theater and arcade.
Lots of shopping and dining a short drive away
Popular regional and national chain restaurants and coffee shops, including Backyard Taco and Starbucks, are just over a mile south. For a popular local spot, Social Birdie, less than 3 miles away, is located at the Las Colinas Golf Club. Its brunch, lunch and dinner menu is curated by an executed chef with over 20 years of experience. Queen Creek Marketplace and Cornerstone at Queen Creek are less than 3 miles away with retailers such as Ulta, Target, Walmart and Old Navy. Fry's Marketplace is half a mile away, but locals also have Costco, Safeway and Trader Joe's within 6 miles.
The neighborhood's feeling, sounds and homes
The community is filled with one-to-two-story Southwestern-style homes with energy-efficient features built from the 2010's to the 2020's. Prices typically range from the low-$400,000s to well over $1 million, with luxury homes and gated properties fetching higher prices. Yards are spacious and landscaped, many primed for outdoor relaxation with deep blue pools. Open green spaces sprawl between residential areas, creating a verdant neighborhood feel. Some homes are within the flight path of Mesa Gateway Airport, around 8 miles away. "[I often tell clients], we are going to stay here until a plane comes over because you need to hear what this sounds like. If you're okay with that, it's no big deal," Bermudez says.
Everything is convenient, but traffic can be bad
“You can get to anything you basically need in life within 10 to 15 minutes of your house, and that’s how the infrastructure is built out here. So, it works nice on top of being close to a freeway system,” Bermudez says. However, it's important to note that traffic can also be severe in the morning and evening, to the point of stand stills. South Ellsworth Road runs along the neighborhood's western side and is a straight shoot to Arizona State Route 24.
