Everything is accessible by foot in Queen Creek Town Center
As the busiest, most urban neighborhood in town, homebuyers choose Queen Creek Town Center for convenience. “It’s right in the hub of everything, and it’s very walkable,” says Susan Bermudez, a Realtor with LPT Realty, LLC, who has sold homes here since 2012. “Schools, shopping, anything you possibly need, you’re within a 10-minute bubble of getting there.” Ellsworth and Rittenhouse roads intersect within the neighborhood at the site of the extensive Queen Creek Marketplace. Ellsworth Road also provides a direct route to the freeway system, under 5 miles north. Many families settle into this general area for its schools and parks, and Queen Creek Town Center sits at the heart of all the local amenities.
Shoppers head to Queen Creek Marketplace for shopping and dining
From retail at Nordstrom Rack to Target and Trader Joe’s, the marketplace is a one-stop shop for everyday needs and luxuries. It also hosts 15 to 20 food trucks and live performers each Friday. Nearby grocers include Fry’s Marketplace, which opened about 2.5 miles south in 2024. Popular restaurants include Barrio Queen, an Arizona Mexican chain, and Sushi Creek, which serves various rolls and has an “I Hate Sushi” menu with alternative options, from burgers to tacos. Rittenhouse Road leads 5 miles southeast to Queen Creek Olive Mill, a local favorite for its market, restaurant and homemade olive oil. “They have great pizzas, outdoor seating, performers, and everything’s fresh,” Bermudez says. “They also throw events to bring people in, like annual pumpkin patches.”
Single-family homes bear Spanish and Mediterranean influences
Paved sidewalks, palm trees and desert shrubbery line most residential streets in the area. Spanish Revivals and Mediterranean-inspired single-family homes often have stucco facades and red-tiled roofs to combat the high Sonoran Desert temperatures. Houses tend to sell between $500,000 and $800,000, though outliers fall on both ends of the range. Three- and four-bedroom homes under 2,000 square feet can cost less than $400,000, and new luxury homes with six bedrooms, sprawling outdoor patios and sizeable pools may surpass $2 million.
Students pave their own path in the Queen Creek Unified School District
Families have plenty of choices within the local school district. “There’s the school you’re zoned for, but you can also choose between any of the schools,” Bermudez says. “You can find a school that brings out the child’s best attributes or interests, which gives them the ability to excel in specific areas.” Many homes in Queen Creek Town Center zone for Desert Mountain Elementary, which scores an A-minus on Niche. Students often attend either A-rated Newell Barney Middle or Queen Creek Middle, which earns an A-minus. Queen Creek High has an A-minus and offers dual enrollment opportunities through Chandler Gilbert Community College. Kids attend school year-round, allowing for more frequent breaks instead of one long summer vacation.
Parks, playgrounds and sports facilities provide options for active families
Outdoor recreation spaces near Queen Creek Town Center span from small community parks to some of the most extensive athletic facilities in the country. The Victoria Heights Playground is within walking distance of home. Desert Mountain Park has two playgrounds, baseball fields and horse trails outside the neighborhood. Mansel Carter Oasis Park has similar amenities, as well as a skate plaza and a fishing lake. Hiking trails in the San Tan Mountains are about 10 miles away, and numerous golfing facilities operate nearby, including the public Las Colinas Golf Club. Arizona Athletic Grounds is one of America’s largest outdoor sports complexes, just 4 miles away. “You’ve got professional pickleball facilities, basketball, soccer — you name it, the park supports it,” Bermudez says. To cool off without leaving the desert, Revel Surf provides makeshift beaches with simulated waves, cliff jumping and a skate park 8 miles from the neighborhood.
The freeway system offers efficient options for getting around
When residents aren’t getting around by bike or foot, they navigate the town by car. The freeway system, which consists of state routes 202 and 24, is 5 miles away, providing routes into Phoenix, 40 miles northwest. State Route 202, known locally as the 202 freeway, also intersects with Interstate 10, which flows coast to coast from Los Angeles to Jacksonville, Florida. Mesa Gateway Airport, 5 miles north, offers select domestic flights, while Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, 33 miles away, has a broader range of services. Proximity to Mesa Gateway Airport causes some noise pollution and excess traffic.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
