Suburban perks on the edge of Queens
According to the New York City real estate site Brick Underground, Cambria Heights has the second-best parking in Queens. That may not sound like much to an outsider, but in a city where people spend untold hours looking for a parking spot, it’s a big deal. The area likely enjoys this significant suburban perk in part because Long Island, land of residential living, is on the other side of the neighborhood’s eastern boundary.
Cambria Heights is a quiet residential neighborhood on Queens, NY.

Single-families and a two historic districts
Residents have worked hard to maintain the area’s character and low rise housing, and white picket fences border small manicured front lawns. “The community in Cambria Heights has gotten very involved in keeping the area zoned for one-family houses. Two-family houses have been grandfathered in,” explains Chatter Singh, a local real estate agent with Keller Williams Liberty and Queens resident. “Most of the homes are brick Cape Cods, but you’ll also find some Tudors.” Row houses and detached homes with three and four bedrooms list for about $600,000 to $800,000. Similar properties in need of significant work are priced around $500,000. In 2022, the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission designated two historic districts in the area, the 222nd Street Historic District and the Cambria Heights–227th Street Historic District.
Most Cambria Heights residents own their own homes.
