Compact suburb in the “City of Presidents”
South Quincy is a multicultural neighborhood rich in history about 12 miles outside Boston. The city of Quincy is locally referred to as the “City of Presidents,” as John Adams and his son John Quincy Adams were both born here. The area started as a hub for granite manufacturing and shipbuilding along the coast. Today, the area is home to museums, public parks, shops and restaurants. “The area is really blooming, it’s one of the best neighborhoods in Quincy I think,” says Mary Kelleher, a Realtor with Gibson Sotheby’s Internation, who’s been selling homes in the area for nearly 40 years.
