About Red Hill, SC

Nearby natural beauty and vibrant community in Red Hill

Surrounded by the Waccamaw National Wildlife Refuge and bordered by the Waccamaw River, the community of Red Hill has garnered considerable attention in the last twenty years, with its population nearly doubling. Located 13 miles north of downtown Myrtle Beach, Red Hill has come into its own due to the reputation of its top-rated public schools and the development of Coastal Carolina University and Conway Medical Center. It straddles the different atmospheres of a near-rural community and a laidback college town, with the university at the center and huge preserved natural areas at the outskirts. "Conway and Red Hill share many things; most people consider them together," says Sara Boling, Realtor with Century 21 Boling & Associates, Inc. and Myrtle Beach native. "You could honestly call that whole area the feet of Horry County. It's a huge draw for people that they're right outside of the beach tourism, and Coastal Carolina University is a huge employer."

From classic architecture to modern subdivisions

Around Coastal Carolina University, homes built in the mid-to-late 20th century are lined along tree-shaded residential streets. Classic architectural styles such as ranch homes and bungalows are most common, with well-maintained front and back yards vibrant with small gardens. Away from the community's center, modern tract housing has been popping up frequently since 2000. New traditional homes with bay windows and garages are typical in newer developments. Many recently built homes sit on flatter terrains in subdivisions around Red Hill, with fenced-in backyards and, sometimes, gated entryways. "The market is really moving – there's a ton of new development. Just the county in general is one of the fastest-growing counties in America," Boling says. Housing costs are slightly lower in Red Hill than in Horry County as a whole, but the price ranges vary drastically. Older homes or smaller, contemporary properties can sell between $200,000 and $350,000, while large modern homes sell between $400,000 and $650,000.

My Clients are saying;

“Oh my goodness! John was the best! I met him on the street as he was putting up an
open house sign. He was so kind and acted so interested in helping us find a
house. I’d dealt with a couple of others but none were as personable and
helpful as John. It’s important to me to get good feedback and John was always
responsive in a matter of minutes when I had a question. He was very
knowledgeable and so positive through the whole process of buying our home. I
HIGHLY recommend John whether you’re looking for your dream home like us or if
you’re selling. He will definitely give you all the attention you need.”

J. Goodnough

“Our family cannot imagine having a better realtor to facilitate the sale of our
home of 20 years than John! From the very first walk through to the closing,
every bit of advice he offered us was spot on! He marketed our house from day
one and continued to do so even after we accepted an offer and signed a
contract and it was a huge relief to know the he wasn't going to let interest
in our house 'wane'. He was a huge help in getting the home staged and ready
for showings and open houses. We never FELT like John cared about us and the
selling of our home we KNEW he cared about us and the selling of our home. He
was a joy to get to know and we feel blessed for the opportunity.”
