Downtown Redwood City is an urban core neighborhood known for its extensive shopping district filled with popular retailers and Michelin-star restaurants. The open-air district spans several blocks and is flanked by apartments and condos on narrow city streets. Redwood City is also in the heart of Silicon Valley, making it a popular location for tech industry professionals to live, work, and play. “The Box HQ is down there, which has really stimulated growth to the area and the tech industry there,” says Mariana Pappalardo, a Realtor with Compass. She’s been selling in the Bay Area for 11 years. Redwood City is home to nine other tech companies, including Oracle and Course Hero.

Condos and apartments dominate the neighborhood
Downtown Redwood City mostly has apartments and condos to offer. Studio units for sale can range from between $1 million and $5.8 million, while one- to four-bedroom units tend to sit around $2 million. Single-family homes can be found in adjacent neighborhoods. These small craftsman cottages and midcentury homes can range from $880,000 to $2 million.
