Sports courts are the norm

Panther Valley Park is a great escape to enjoy the great outdoors. Its spray ground keeps the kiddies cool when the weather is warm. The tennis, volleyball and exercise courts keep the fitness fanatics active, and the skate park provides a place for boarders to practice their tricks. New townhouses to call home

Panther Valley has a variety of home styles that fit all kinds of personalities and families. From colorful to contemporary, there’s something for everyone. Modern takes on one-story Craftsman from the late 1990s and early 2000s sit on concrete slabs and have prominent multicar garages, while larger contemporary properties don stone façades with elevated entrances and spacious semicircle driveways. Several new townhouse developments have appeared around the community, and the community has an excellent view of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Mount Rose and the famous Nevada “N.” Prices in the area generally range from the $200,000s to the $500,000s, with most new builds in the $400,000s.

Spring into gardening

The Reno Spring Home & Garden Show is a well-attended every March. Held at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, the event caters to those with green thumbs and growing gardens. The Reno Jazz Festival brings together lovers of the genre and offers live performances, workshops and clinics to sharpen musicians’ skills.

Carnieceria Tejaro may be small in size but big it’s in flavor as it serves up authentic Mexican dishes, including its birria quesadillas. Downtown Reno is just a hop and skip away down US Route 395 for more enjoyable eateries.

An Honor Grant High School

Served by the Washoe County School District, students can attend Peavine Elementary School and Archie Clayton Middle School before enrolling in North Valleys High School. Selected by the Nevada Department of Education and the International Center for Leadership in Education as an Honor Grant High School, North Valleys holds an overall Niche grade of B-minus. Peavine and Clayton have a B-plus.

The road to casinos

US Route 395 runs directly through the community, connecting residents to State Route 659 and Interstates 80 and 580. Access to these thoroughfares allows residents access to several locations in surrounding areas, including the University of Nevada – Reno, Downtown Reno and several casinos. RTC bus stops are also scattered about the community for those looking to lessen their carbon footprint.

Flashing lights

The casino industry made Reno the Biggest Little City in the World, and residents can easily enjoy the flashing lights and ringing bells of it all. The Bonanza Casino sits right in the center of the community and has all the normal comforts a casino can offer, including dining at Cactus Creek Prime Steakhouse and Branding Iron Café. Free Play Fridays is a popular part of the week as the casino gives away $50 in free slot play every 10 minutes from 3:00 – 11:00 pm.
