Winding streets with views of the Reno skyline
West Plumb-Cashill Boulevard offers upscale homes tucked away in the desert hills of one of southwest Reno’s most desirable neighborhoods. Many of these homes have excellent views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the city skyline from streets with names like Heavenly Valley Lane and Skyline View Drive. The neighborhood feels slightly remote because of its hilly locale, but it’s only a short drive to Reno’s vibrant Midtown, busy shopping destinations and downtown casinos and resorts. “You’ve got mountain views from the hills. And it’s really quite convenient to the rest of the city,” says Realtor Marilyn Minor of Dickson Realty, who has worked in real estate in the area for the last 26 years.
Custom homes in the hills of southwest Reno
There’s a wide mix of home styles on winding streets amid ample evergreen trees, blooming bushes and other leafy vegetation. “Most of these homes are custom built — it’s not a cookie cutter neighborhood. It also doesn’t have a homeowner’s association, which is attractive to some people,” Minor says. Upscale ranch homes, contemporary homes and summery Mission Revival style homes with red-tiled rooftops are common here. Some kitchen and living room windows offer gorgeous views of the area's natural scenery and the mountains in the distance. Lot sizes range from around a quarter-acre to nearly an acre, offering plenty of room for backyard gatherings, gardening and landscaping. There’s a wide range of prices, with smaller homes selling for between $700,000 and $900,000, and large, luxury homes listing for between $1 million and $2.3 million depending on square footage, lot size and interior features.
