Rochester neighborhood mixes residential with industrial

Lincoln Park is a part industrial, part residential Rochester neighborhood bordered by the Erie Canal and Interstate 490. Manufacturing firms, fencing companies, and chemical plants do business on the west side of the neighborhood, bordering the skinny historic waterway. On the east side, 1920s colonials and one-story cottages have small front lawns. Mt Read Boulevard, a north-south highway, divides the neighborhood’s two sides, and Amtrak railroad tracks run along its southern border. “There are quite a few commuters here who work in or around Rochester,” says Dharwin James, a Realtor at Voyage Realty Group specializing in the Rochester area.
