In the center of Florida’s Space Coast is Rockledge, the oldest city in Brevard County. Rockledge was established in 1887 and has retained its quiet charm as the community has grown around it. Close to the Patrick Space Force Base and NASA’s Kennedy Center, it’s a popular suburb for active-duty members, veterans and those working in aerospace. The city of nearly 30,000 is almost self-sustaining, featuring desirable golf course neighborhoods, well-rated schools and an easily accessible city center. “It’s classic old Florida,” says Dan Quattrocchi, an area native and Owner of Quattrocchi Real Estate, Inc., with over 20 years of experience in the industry. “On Rockledge Drive, there’s a bunch of historic-looking old houses. It’s a great central Brevard location. You could shoot down easily to the nice new shops and restaurants in Viera. You have good schools, you’re close to the river and there is a lot of history.”
Aerospace and aviation are the community’s primary industry sectors. In addition to NASA, area employers include Northrup Grumman and L3Harris Technologies. Other sectors include healthcare, manufacturing and retail.
