Named after the stream that runs through the southern shore of Lake Erie, Rocky River is a lakeside community with multiple green spaces, outdoor recreation and a highly rated school system. As part of the Cleveland Metropark system, otherwise known as the “Emerald Necklace,” Rocky River has earned national recognition from the Arbor Day Foundation for 40 consecutive years and was ranked the 15th best place to live in Ohio by Niche.com. Over 21,000 residents enjoy a convenient 15-minute commute to the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport that is just 6 miles away, as well as several community-driven programs through the city’s public library and recreation center. “There’s such a huge sense of community here,” Mayor Pamela Bobst says. “That’s at our core, and we do that really well.”

Lakeside adventures at Bradstreet’s Landing
Stretching over 12 miles long, the stream Rocky River is named after provides easy access for boats into Lake Erie thanks to the many docks and marinas dotting the route. The recently renovated 600-foot fishing pier at Bradstreet’s Landing also attracts over 15,000 visitors every year and is a popular spot for kayaking and paddleboarding. “You can walk right into Lake Erie from that park,” Mayor Bobst says. Additionally, Rocky River takes great pride in maintaining all 10 of its parks, going as far as planting 200 new trees annually.
