The lakeshore neighborhood of North Bay in Blossvale, New York, comprises vacation homes, second homes and investment properties. Griffiss International Airport in Rome is a small commercial and corporate airport.

Commuters can access routes 68, 13 and 49 to other parts of Northern New York. The Schoharie County Public Transportation System provides bus routes throughout the region and to Albany, New York. The closest Amtrak station is at Walsh Circle in Syracuse. Syracuse Hancock International Airport is roughly an hour away from the community for long-distance travelers.
