Quiet suburban living alongside an airport and university
Lewis University shares its name with the higher education institution it sits alongside. The school is a private Lasallian university known for its aviation program, so Lewis University residents border the campus and the airport. “The campus is beautiful, and the student life is diverse. It has a quiet college town vibe,” says broker Jill Petranek with Coldwell Banker Realty Naperville. “But you’ll mostly find older ranch homes in the neighborhood.” While the community borders the university, the airport’s runway stretches between homes and the campus, so residents here are much more likely to see planes taking off than students walking to class. Amenities like restaurants and grocery stores are just on the other side of the airport, so residents and university students can easily access amenities without venturing too far from home.
The Romeoville neighborhood of Lewis University is near campus and an airport.
The Lewis University Airport is owned and operated by the Joliet Regional Port District.
