It's easy to spot summer approaching in Roselle, a suburb of about 22,000 west of Chicago. Aside from the obvious changes in weather, the village begins preparing for its annual Roselle Lions Club Annual Rose Fest and Rose Parade in early June — 2025's edition will be the 64th annual. “It’s just a very quaint, safe suburb,” says Christina Anderson-Heller, the marketing director of Lynfred Winery, itself a Roselle staple since the 1970s. “We have such a heart for everything local. It’s like what you’d expect in a happy little movie about a hometown.”
Complete with a walkable downtown hosting a handful of unique, characteristic shops and restaurants in early 20th-century storefronts, locals also enjoy parks and a highly rated school system.

In the Medinah neighborhood, on the east side of the village, homes are higher priced, in the range of $350,000-$700,000, with estate homes fetching around $1 million. It's also home to the renowned Medinah Country Club, which has hosted a wide range of professional golf events.

There’s also a skatepark equipped with ramps, banks and ledges. Meacham Grove, a 250-acre forest preserve, showcases woodland groves, meadows and wetlands.
