Sachse is a North Dallas suburb with rural and suburban appeal
Situated between the President George Bush Turnpike and Lake Lavon, Sachse (SACK-see) is a Dallas suburb on the outer edges of the DFW Metroplex. “When I started in 2004 we were a population of 10,000,” says Lance Whitworth, Director of Leisure Services for the City of Sachse. “Now we’re 30,000. And like other cities in North Dallas and Collins County, it’s grown quite a bit.” Sachse is rapidly increasing its services to meet demand, with new parks, additional recreation center programming and expanded library services. Its location on the eastern edge of the Metroplex gives Sachse a rare and increasingly appealing mix of rural and suburban.
