Cozy sidewalk-lined steets and gentle winding hills
Clifton Heights’ sloping terrain is unusual for St. Louis, but you’ll still frequently see residents walking its winding streets. That’s according to Dawn Griffin, a Realtor and team leader at Exp Realty. The neighborhood’s well-maintained, shaded sidewalks that weave throughout the area stay busy, injecting a sense of community into Clifton Heights. “The sidewalks are well traveled," Griffin says. "You can see kids walking to school, and people walking their dogs.”
Victorian homes and smaller bungalows
The homes along the dense streets of Clifton Heights aren’t huge; they mostly range from 1,000-square-foot homes that sell for approximately $150,000 to 1,800-square-foot homes approaching $300,000. The modest sizes – and the accompanying home prices that tend to be lower than surrounding neighborhoods – are attractive to many house hunters, says Denise Bryant, a Realtor at The Allen Brake Real Estate Team. “Usually it’s your first-time homebuyers and downsizers.” While the properties tend to be similar in size lots, the architectural styles vary. Tour the predominantly residential neighborhood and you’ll spot ranches, bungalows, Craftsmans and the occasional Dutch colonial. At the center of the community, larger Victorian homes surrounding a community park with a lake sell for upward of $500,000.

Toasted ravioli and comfort food at Chris' Pancake & Dining,
Although the area is largely residential, that didn’t stop Chris’ Pancake & Dining from opening in Clifton Heights in 1987 to serve hungry locals. Step on over to the no-frills diner and order from the specials etched on the chalkboard – or keep it simple and order a stack of warm, fluffy pancakes and find out why St. Louis Magazine named them some of the best flapjacks in the city. Clifton Heights’ isn’t considered a dining mecca, but residents can easily jaunt over to the neighboring district, The Hill. This area is renowned for its Italian-American cuisine and is the birthplace of the city's signature toasted ravioli.

Very quiet atmosphere except some neighbors are party makers at night. I truely like this area because i can walk to a park without worrying abut my surround much. The neighbors are nice and the area are very cool. Someone owners would accidently leave let the dog loose and better to watch out. The shopping areas are very close range and not far by taking a highway. The school is okay, some are sketchy the others are very nice. I see in the future of this community to build and form a calming enviroment.
