Laid-back living close to Downtown St. Petersburg
City blocks packed with beach bungalows and ranch-style homes have replaced the miles of citrus groves that once flourished in Childs Park. Today, residents walk to the Childs Park Recreation and Fitness Center for morning workouts at the indoor gym and take evening strolls down the neighborhood trail. Along the outskirts of the community, local seafood markets and popular fisherman bars make it easy for residents to find fresh-caught seafood year-round. While there aren’t too many shops or restaurants in Childs Park, nearby highways quickly connect locals to Downtown St. Petersburg and the coastal beaches nearby.

City blocks packed with beach bungalows and ranch-style homes
Childs Park’s wide, paved residential streets are arranged in a modified grid pattern, with about 16 homes packed on each rectangular city block. Most of the homes here were built between the 1940s and 50s. There are beach bungalows with wide front porches next to brightly colored ranch-style homes, along with some cozy minimal traditionals. Some contemporary builds with asymmetrical designs and flat roofs have recently replaced older, abandoned homes throughout the neighborhood. Yards in Childs Park are kept simple, with patchy beach grass lawns shaded by tall palm trees and moss-covered oaks. These two-to-three-bedroom listings usually range between $250,000 and $400,000, but some fixer-uppers can be found for around $150,000.
Brightly colored, one-story homes line the quiet sidewalks within the Childs Park neighborhood.
