Affordable homes near city amenities

Despite being located near some of St. Petersburg's priciest neighborhoods, homeowners still enjoy all the residual benefits of a great location without the exorbitant costs. “You’re getting a great value for a north St. Pete neighborhood,” says Max Loveland, a listing agent for Feel Great Real Estate with 9 years of experience.

From remodeled shotgun to midcentury modern
The single-family homes were mostly built in the 1950s and 1960s and many have undergone contemporary remodels that appeal to a variety of buyers. “I think it’s a great area for first-time home buyers,” says Loveland. “There’s a lot of room for appreciation based on the St. Pete (market) metrics and the neighborhoods it’s surrounded by. It’s also great for seasonal buyers who are not looking to spend a fortune on HOA fees.” Ranch-style homes are common, and creatively remodeled shotgun homes and midcentury moderns add to the eclectic collection of smaller homes, while a mix of larger residences also spread throughout the neighborhood. Prices can be anywhere from $170,000 for fixer-uppers to $700,000 for newer two-story homes. Edgemoor is not a waterfront community, but Old Tampa Bay is just past the neighboring community of Shore Acres, which contains some of the city’s most expensive housing. Locals could walk to the bay on a sunny day. Luckily, St. Petersburg averages more of those per year than any city in the United States.

There isn't good public services here. The ones that are here often do little to nothing to help out.

The local business in Saint Petersburg, Fl is very diverse. The shops change with every part of town. The shops here are mostly small town shops, with some big chain companies mixed in between. Some shops are very run down and beat up, but the quality of service is good. That is why they have an "okay" rating.
