Easy access to downtown Salisbury and Salisbury City Park
On the southern banks of the Wicomico River, Presidents-Princeton blends suburban convenience and downtown Salisbury proximity. Locals can walk to the city center, where vintage lampposts and ginkgo trees sit in front of Italianate-style storefronts. The Salisbury City Park, also downtown, is a 100-acre green space with walking paths and playgrounds running along both banks of the Wicomico River. Strip malls, auto repair shops and stand-alone restaurants line U.S. Route 13, spanning the neighborhood’s western edge. Despite the neighborhood’s bustling location, LaVon Adkins, a Salisbury resident and Realtor with ERA Martin Associates, says it still maintains a residential atmosphere. “You’re right at the center of everything Salisbury, but it feels very quiet and separate from all of that. Kids can walk to Prince Street Elementary, Bennett High, and even Salisbury University.”
Presidents-Princeton has a home for everyone.

Midcentury homes that cost below the average Salisbury price
Weeds sprout through Presidents-Princeton’s sidewalk-lined streets, which were predominantly developed throughout the 1940s and ‘50s. Minimal traditional houses painted in muted tones sit on unfenced 6,000-square-foot lots, often shaded by a white oak tree. Gravel and grass driveways typically stretch alongside three-bedroom Cape Cod cottages built atop concrete slabs. Though Adkins admits the neighborhood may look uniform, she says that’s part of its appeal. “These houses might have been considered cookie-cutter back in the day, but now people want them because they’re charming starter homes.” Buying in the neighborhood can cost between $125,000 and $250,000, a range lower than a Salisbury home’s average $300,000 selling price.

Salisbury City Park has summer concerts, playgrounds and a zoo
Wooden footbridges stretch over the Wicomico River, connecting Salisbury City Park’s sidewalks and recreational hubs on each side of the waterway. Locals will pass tennis courts and wooden fishing docks, where they can catch chain pickerel and largemouth bass, as they walk along the river. Mature pine and sycamore trees shade picnic tables overlooking the river’s cattail patch-covered shoreline. Puppies can climb obstacles at the dog park, and kids can run around the all-wood, castle-themed playground. At the park’s core, flamingos, black-tailed prairie dogs and over 100 other animals roam around naturalistic enclosures at the Salisbury Zoo, where admission is free. Sounds of trumpets and saxophones fill the air as the Salisbury Community Band performs its summer concert series at the park’s century-old bandstand every Sunday throughout June. The river’s closest powerboat and kayak launch is just off Riverside Drive, about a mile west of the neighborhood. Maryland’s eastern shore, home to Ocean City Beach and Assateague State Park, is just a 30-mile drive away. The neighborhood also has a few indoor recreation hubs, like Planet Fitness on College Avenue and the nearby Richard A. Henson Family YMCA, which has an indoor pool, a cycling studio and a basketball court.
The Salisbury Zoo near Presidents-Princeton is free and makes for a great day of fun.

Bennett High School, where dual enrollment classes with Salisbury University include piano, German and world civilizations. Around 7,000 students attend the school, which offers undergraduate degree programs like nursing, marketing and elementary education. While some students do live in Presidents-Princeton, Adkins says they don’t have much of an effect on the neighborhood. “There are a few off-campus apartments in Presidents-Princeton, but SU students aren’t particularly rowdy, so parties and loud noises aren’t an issue.”

Fast food spots along U.S. Route 13 and a night out in downtown Salisbury
Fast-food drive-throughs like Dunkin’ and Taco Bell and an Acme grocery store sit along four-lane U.S. Route 13, which also has a few locally owned eateries. For instance, Guinness posters and Celtic knots adorn the wood walls of The Irish Penny Pub & Grill, known for regular live folk music nights and trivia every Thursday. Even with this commercial convenience, Adkins says downtown Salisbury is the city’s main dining hub. “Downtown Salisbury is where people go for a night out because there’s tons of riverside restaurants and a little bit of nightlife. That’s what everyone does on weekends.” Locals can walk to Market Street Inn, a seafood spot where white umbrellas and string lights cover the patio overlooking Wicomico River. High-top tables dot the concrete floors at Mojo’s Urban Eatery, which serves local beer flights and brick-oven pizza until midnight.
