Lots of living options near dining spots
Tucked between the San Antonio International Airport and McAllister Park, the Brookhollow neighborhood embodies a wonderful combination of residential comforts and commercial conveniences. Made of a collection of smaller neighborhoods like Blossom Park and Arboretum, the primarily residential area also has a series of shopping centers near Highway 281 and Wurzbach Parkway. Not to be confused with the nearby neighborhood Brook Hollow, this community is incredibly convenient to the rest of San Antonio and is even near Salado Creek Greenway-North. Guests regularly spot white-tailed deer on this 8-mile multi-use recreational trail. History buffs will be glad to know the Texas Transportation Museum is close by, too.
Locals walk past ranch homes and tall trees
"This area has lovely rambling ranchers on estate-sized lots. The houses have a lot of character, and the neighborhood is very popular. It’s centrally located and only five minutes from the airport. But there’s not a lot of airport noise because the runways are in the opposite direction,” says Linda Zimmerhanzel, the broker/owner of Zest Realty. “It’s only a hop and skip from Highway 28, and it’s between Loop 410 and 1604, making it one of the most convenient areas close to the city. It’s also right next to McAllister Park, which is very popular with dog-lovers.” There are condos, townhouses and single-family homes adorning the gently curving, tree-lined streets in Brookhollow. The sidewalks are well-kept and make taking an evening stroll past tidy lawns even more pleasant. Prices range from $165,000 for a two-bedroom condo to $450,000 for a five-bedroom 1970s contemporary-style home.
Blossom Park single-family homes usually feature 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

The sprawling area covers 976 acres and contains over five miles of paved walking paths in addition to 10 miles of unpaved biking trails. Originally called Northeast Preserve, there’s a dog park with canine exercise equipment and a walking trail that locals often use. In the Spring, visitors can use one of the park’s barbecue pits to grill before or after a Little League game held on one of the baseball diamonds. As for parking, there are spacious lots, and an annual kite festival takes place in one.
