Churchill Estates is a partially gated community with quiet roads and cul-de-sacs leading to homes on well-landscaped lots. "The cul-de-sacs are small, so people really get to know their neighbors," Cano says. Spacious lawns with broad canopies of trees provide shade from the Texas sun. Houses along Cadillac Drive are set back from the road, blocked from through traffic by long driveways and a barrier of trees. Most homes are in contemporary style and built between the 1980s and 1990s, ranging from 1,400 to over 4,000 square feet. In the gated Edgewater subdivision, Spanish Revivals painted in shades of tan and orange offer lakeside views, and in other subdivisions, New Traditional homes with brick construction feature multi-car garages and inground pools. Prices generally range from the mid-$300,000s to just over $800,000. Buyers should be aware that Churchill Estates is in the flight path of planes coming from San Antonio International Airport, and some homeowners invest in soundproof windows in order to minimize noise.

The North East Independent School District is among the top ten districts in the city and earns an A on Niche. Heubner Elementary is an A-rated school that offers a morning news club. The Churchill Estates Homeowner's Association hosts events throughout the year. "Everyone gets together to throw block parties, from Memorial Day to the Fourth of July to birthday parties," Cano says. Santa cruises through the neighborhood on a sled in the back of a pickup truck during Christmas. The Churchill Estates Women's Club organizes an annual Easter egg hunt at the neighborhood's recreation center.
Educational pursuits at Phil Hardberger Park
At the southern edge of Churchill Estates lies Phil Hardberger Park, an award-winning conservancy renowned for its recreational features and nature preservation. The park has 330 acres and offers a butterfly learning center and a children's community garden. The park's Voelcker Homestead Trailhead connects to the Salado Creek Greenway, over 33 miles of paved paths for walking or biking that link to 14 other parks. The Churchill Estates community pool, a private green space with a recreation center, is next to the tennis courts. Many kids join the Churchill Estates Stallions Swim Team or coach during the season from May through June. Nearby attractions include Six Flags Fiesta Texas, drawing millions of visitors annually. Nearby, the Holocaust Memorial Museum of San Antonio is found at the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Campus of the San Antonio Jewish Community.

Churchill Estates is 13 miles from downtown, 7 miles from San Antonio International Airport and 7 miles from Methodist Stone Oak Hospital. The 1604 Loop, which surrounds the entirety of San Antonio, is just 5 miles north. Other nearby thoroughfares include U.S. 281, Interstate 410 and I-10. The commute to Camp Bullis is a 7-mile drive, giving access to one of the city's biggest employers. While the neighborhood is car-dependent, bus stops are available along Blanco Road.
