At Crownridge you can embrace your childhood dream of living within spitting distance of an amusement park and take advantage of endless nearby amenities like highly rated schools, shopping and golf courses. “It’s all about location,” says Johnny Morrow, a local Realtor with Realty Advantage. “You’re across the street from UTSA, you can see the fireworks from Fiesta Texas and there’s tons of great shopping around.”

You’ll find beautiful two-story brick, stucco and stone homes in Crownridge which were mostly built in the late 1990s and early 2000s with a price range from about $295,000 to $575,000. There are one-story options as well and many desirable subdivisions are filled with hillside homes and scenic views. Home sizes range from 1,700 to 3,000 square feet and lot sizes can be anywhere from 5,000 to 25,000 square feet. “There are older homes on larger lots and newer, higher-end luxury homes on smaller lots,” Morrow says. Two-car garages are a common feature and although front porches are smaller, backyard entertainment spaces tend to be more spacious and elaborate.

Students in Crownridge can attend Monroe May Elementary, which received a B rating from Niche and has dual language and ESL programs. Brandeis High School is another option that received an A rating from Niche and is known for the strength of its robotics program and its orchestra. There are four Brandeis competitive robotics teams that have made it to the state championship on multiple occasions. The Brandeis Orchestra was ranked 11th in the state at the TMEA Honors Orchestra competition and was selected to play at the International Midwest Clinic in Chicago and at Carnegie Hall.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, stop by Kona Grill to chow down at their award-winning sushi bar. Enjoy upscale American cuisine for lunch, dinner, or happy hour for sushi and cocktails that can be sipped at the bar or out on the patio. For a high-end sports bar experience, the Yardhouse also has patio seating along with a massive beer list and an impressive menu. Dig into everything from street tacos to quality steaks and sample over 100 craft and local beers on tap.

If you’ve been bitten by the shopping bug, the Shops at La Cantera are the place to be. This outdoor, high-end shopping center has everything from Macy’s and Dillard’s to Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus. Murals, lush green landscaping and outdoor seating spaces add charm to this popular destination.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas is known as the “thrill capital of south Texas” thanks to its sprawling 200 acres of rides and entertainment. Cool off at the water park or catch a show after dinner. Test your courage on a dozen world-class roller coasters or explore all of the park’s six themed areas, each with its own unique shopping and dining experiences.

The nearby La Cantera Resort & Spa is a golf resort with scenic views of the Texas Hill Country and an 18-hole championship course designed by golf course architect Jay Morrish and PGA Tour Professional Tom Weiskopf.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
