Suburban Neighborhood in San Antonio, Texas
Bexar County 78257
The Dominion is one of the best guarded subdivisions in San Antonio, northwest of downtown. It’s further divided into several smaller divisions, with three entrances along the Interstate 10 corridor. “The entire development holds more than 20 subdivisions,” says Miguel Herrera, Vice President of Coldwell Banker Global Luxury. The Dominion attracts people, especially from out of state, and they tend to stick around long-term. He adds, “Residents can upgrade and downsize all while maintaining the same lifestyle, and enjoying one of the best amenities the Dominion has to offer — the Dominion Country Club. From the avid golfer to the socialite meeting with friends for lunch or a drink, the club has all the facilities for everyone to enjoy.”
Houses include garden homes, Spanish Mission-style houses, new construction builds and larger estates on acres of land with Traditional stylings, like steep Tudor gables. As of September 2023, closing sale prices range from $679,000 for a single-story Spanish Mission-style home with 2,800 square feet of living space, to $5 million for a stone-built estate with 9,600 square feet of living space and acres of land. A few homes are being appraised over $5 million. “The trending inventory in both remodels and new construction have been Contemporary and Traditional style. Both are very popular,” says Herrera.
Students can attend Leon Springs Elementary School, Rawlinson Middle School and Clark High School. Northside Independent School District offers Career and Technical Education programs starting in middle school. Clark High, graded A on Niche, offers advanced academics, including Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment classes. Previously known as Texas Military Institute, TMI Episcopal is the oldest Episcopal college preparatory school in the Southwest. This private school is graded A-plus on Niche, and serves middle and high school students.
Head over to Leon Springs and grocery shop at H-E-B or Walmart Supercenter. Close by, locally owned and operated Rudy’s Bar-B-Q offers up fresh, barbeque items including brisket, sausage links and other meats, along with cream corn and other sides. Hotaru Sushi & Hibachi serves authentic and fusion Japanese dishes. In addition to an extensive sushi menu, they offer stir fried noodles, fried rice, hibachi dinner combos and more. Herrera shares that Brasão, next to the Ferrari Dealership, is one of the nicest Brazilian steakhouses in the area that residents visit. Other restaurants include La Fogata, a high-end Mexican restaurant with great outdoor seating, Silo Terrace Oyster Bar for high-end seafood, and Aldo’s Ristorante Italiano.
But most residents tend to dine inside of the Dominion. “Many residents don’t go far, and frequent the best, all-around dining experience at the Dominion Country Club,” explains Herrera. He adds, “The Country Club also does monthly events.” This includes wine tastings that highlight international chefs, the Fourth of July barbeque, summer camps, social gatherings and golf tournaments.
Dominion isn’t far from dining or shopping options at La Cantera Mall, The Rim Shopping Mall or Downtown Boerne, other nearby shopping centers. Six Flags Fiesta Texas is also a short drive away for family fun. Spend time outdoors at Raymond Russell Park, in its 22 acres of green space. Leon Creek runs through the park, with an accompanying trail where you can get your steps in. The park has three pavilions for large gatherings and three cushioned playgrounds for the kids to enjoy.
In Dominion, experience upscale living in a gated subdivision centered around a country club with luxury amenities.
