Local programs offered by the Virginia Gill Community Center
Kimberly Vasquez, Recreation Specialist at Virginia Gill Community Center states, “The park has three different baseball fields, and it gets busier in the summer. Little League baseball brings everybody together.” The community center offers programming to support the physical, mental and social well-being of adults and seniors. It provides free, hot meals every weekday and organizes events throughout the year for the community, like Neighbors Together, a mini festival in October and a Veterans Day event in November. Between the cozy houses and the community gatherings, “Lackland Terrace feels just a little homier than surrounding areas,” says Vasquez.
