There’s so much to do downtown with the museums and the River Walk and everything.”

Tierra Linda is a neighborhood that gets the creative juices flowing. Residents regularly come up with decorative ways to display their mailboxes or colorful concepts for their home gardens. Renovated bungalows can be found throughout the neighborhood, sitting on sizeable lots with large lawns accented by mature trees. Updated Craftsman homes offer one to two stories with quaint porches and cozy patios. Fenced-in and gated yards are the norm in this neighborhood, with the fences and gates adding to the overall aesthetic. New builds are also starting to make an appearance. Homes in the area generally cost between $100,000 and $200,000, with new builds reaching $250,000.

Served by both the Harlandale and South San Antonio Independent School Districts, students have various options when mapping out their educational journeys. They can attend Stonewall/Flanders Elementary and Armando Leal, Jr. Middle School before enrolling at Harlendale High School. With a focus on STEM education, Harlandale students can earn credit toward collegiate studies through the district's partnership with Texas A&M University-San Antonio. To further assist students with continuing their education, every graduating senior in the Harlandale ISD receives a scholarship. According to Niche, the elementary and middle schools have an overall grade of C, while the high school has a C-plus.
