Neighborhood near two major employers

In northeast San Antonio, the community of Valley Forge rests snugly between two major employers: Randolph Air Force Base and San Antonio International Airport. This residential area is full of single-family homes, townhouses and multiplexes. Though most residents stay here for the housing prices, they also enjoy the area’s traditional Texan restaurants and convenient access to Sam’s Club. Heading southwest, residents can drive 9 miles to Fort Sam Houston and 13 miles to downtown San Antonio. Valley Forge is a quick car ride away from employment, shopping and entertainment.

Mix of single- and multi-family housing

The streets of Valley Forge are lined with driveways, sidewalks and single-family homes. These one to two-story homes are often ranch-style and made of beige-colored brick with attached garages. Most homes have three to four bedrooms and sell for $200,000 to $280,000. Many front yards have trees sturdy enough for a tire swing and plenty of room for outdoor holiday decorations. Additionally, newly remodeled multiplexes ranging from $815,000 to $1 million can be found along Marcel Way, Melanzane Avenue and surrounding streets. Also along these streets are contemporary townhouses for rent, which cost about $1,400 per month. Residents typically pay $920 for a one-bedroom apartment and up to $1,275 for a three-bedroom apartment.

Centrally located Independence & Valley Forge bus stop

Valley Forge is somewhat bikeable and walkable, and the Independence & Valley Forge bus stop is centrally located. “We have the VIA bus system for public transit: it could be better, but we can’t complain. Everybody has a car. That’s the easiest way to get around,” says Cesar Amezcua, Broker and Owner at CA & Company, and one of the Top 50 Residential Real Estate Agents recognized by the San Antonio Business Journal. For peace of mind, the Methodist Healthcare System, including a hospital, is less than 2 miles away.

Enjoy a night out at Madame Dalia's Country Bar

For more shopping and entertainment, Live Oak Town Center and The Forum outdoor shopping complex are just 3 miles away from conveniently located Valley Forge.

Proximity to Toyota Field and Morgan's Wonderland

Locals also enjoy proximity to the professional soccer stadium at Toyota Field and to Morgan’s Wonderland, a theme park catering to children and adults with special needs. “One of our city’s millionaires, Gordon Hartman, dedicated his life to philanthropy and built his daughter with special needs a theme park, which is open to the community. The heart and soul of the area is Morgan’s Wonderland,” says Amezcua.
