Parkside living on the San Francisco Peninsula
Junipero Serra Park's forested hillsides overlook the suburban sprawl and bayfront scenery on the San Francisco Peninsula. At the bottom of this wooded open space is Huntington Park, a quiet neighborhood in San Bruno where residents are within walking distance from some of the city's best-known green spaces. Between Millbrae and South San Francisco, the area has become a hotspot for the Bay Area's fast-growing biotech industry. “It's brought in a lot of high-paying jobs and young professionals. I used to sell these homes for $200,000. Now I’m selling them for $1.5 million,” says Realtor Don Clouse of Coldwell Banker Realty, who has lived and worked in San Bruno for more than 30 years.
Junipero Serra Park boasts incredible views of South San Francisco and the Bay.

Outdoor recreation and a brand-new aquatic center
Junipero Serra Park offers over 100 acres of hilly open space along the neighborhood’s western edge. It has hiking trails that wind up into the forested slopes, offering sweeping views of the Bay Area. A playground and picnic shelter are at the center of the park. San Bruno City Park is also in the neighborhood. One of the city’s most active parks, it has tennis courts, a walking track and the brand-new San Bruno Recreation and Aquatic Center. The indoor swimming facility opened in 2024. It was built using restitution funds from a tragic pipeline explosion that occurred in San Bruno over a decade ago.

Post-war homes on small lots
Huntington Park’s streets are lined with single-family homes that were built in the post-war construction boom. Craftsman bungalows, Mediterranean Revival, Tudor Revival and ranch-style homes are common throughout the area. Homes are modestly sized, typically between 1,500 and 2,500 square feet, while small yards offer enough room for landscaping and small gardens. Most of the houses in this neighborhood sell between $1 million and $2 million.

Diverse dining on El Camino Real
Huntington Park backs up against part of El Camino Real, a major roadway dotted with local shops and diverse dining options. Filipino, Japanese, Szechuan, Korean barbeque and Latin American flavor can all be found here. Among the standouts is Taqueria Mi Durango, known for its festive décor, Mission style burritos and al pastor tacos. There’s a Trader Joe’s and a Safeway within 2 miles of the neighborhood for groceries and everyday goods.

The neighborhood is also within a mile of the nearest Caltrain station, which offers dozens of stops between San Francisco and San Jose. SamTrans buses run up and down El Camino Real for local travelers. “It’s a really convenient location. You can get to San Francisco in 15 minutes, Silicon Valley in 30 minutes and the airport is right down the road,” Clouse says.
Proximity to the San Francisco International Airport
Airplane noise is a reality for Huntington Park residents. The San Francisco International Airport is less than a mile away. It’s the biggest airport in the Bay Area and one of the busiest airports in the state.
