A quiet suburban neighborhood in busy San Francisco
Ingleside, a suburban neighborhood 7 miles from downtown San Francisco, maintains a low-key atmosphere that's home to a variety of people. "It's pretty quiet and very residential," says Eddie O'Sullivan, Founder and Realtor with Elevation Real Estate. "It's more older families who've been there for a long time and younger families just starting out, along with some students. A lot of people have additional rooms in their house that they'll rent out." The neighborhood is located along Ocean Avenue, which has a variety of stores and is located between City College of San Francisco and San Francisco State University.
Shopping and dining on Ocean Avenue
Ocean Avenue is the area's main shopping location. It has restaurants, coffee shops, and essential stores like Walgreens. "Ocean Avenue has gone through a renaissance over the last few years," says O'Sullivan. "It's become quite a cool commercial district." Whole Foods is one of the anchor businesses that's changed the area into a convenient spot for shopping and dining. Philz Coffee, a low-key coffee shop with an industrial aesthetic, offers specialty drinks. Pakwan Restaurant has murals painted on interior walls and offers fast-casual Indian food. South of the neighborhood, Korean grocery store H Mart is a big draw. "The H Mart is huge. It's like a Trader Joe's kind of deal; It has a cult following," says O'Sullivan. "There are people who come from all over the city to shop there." The Stonestown Galleria,1.5 miles west, is home to national clothing retailers like Forever 21, Zara and UNIQLO.

What I like about the Ingleside is that it is a quiet area. The area is beginning to gentrify and there are no homeless. It is fairly clean and you can get all the groceries you need and you can take quiet safe walks by yourself. It is a refreshing, urban neighborhood.

A bunch of college students and home owners. It's a pretty neat area with a bunch of different food around. Has a bunch of parks and is surrounded by the hills of San Francisco.
