Around Inner Parkside
From Inner Parkside's perch, residents can see the Gulf of the Farallones on a clear day. "It's idyllic," says Lynn Finnegan, a Realtor with Compass. "There are tree-lined streets, and many homes have amazing ocean views." The neighborhood has more to offer than a pretty view, though. "It's an area where you're going to get to know your neighbors," says Lynn Finnegan, a Realtor with Compass. "It's a friendly neighborhood." Inner Parkside is also a short walk to West Portal, a popular shopping and dining district. Walkability, in fact, is one of the neighborhood's strong suits, and that contributes to the area's housing prices. "The walk score in San Francisco is directly related to housing prices," says Finnegan. The neighborhood is close to parks, shopping, dining, and the Muni Metro Line. Inner Parkside is also remarkably safe, scoring a 2 on the CAP Crime Index.

Inner Parkside homes
Inner Parkside is known for its unique architectural identity. Many properties in the neighborhood were designed by San Francisco architect Oliver Rousseau, who favored bay windows and arched porticos that residents can still enjoy today. The neighborhood's homes lack front yards and don't have much room on the sides, but residents enjoy long and private backyards that are all but invisible from the street. These compact homes tend to have a ground-floor garage and first-floor living rooms, and most properties tend to go for between $980,000 and $1.6 million.
