Single-family homes off Highway 85
Anderson East is a serene suburb of single-family homes in the Blossom Valley area of South San Jose. “It’s a great place for first-time homebuyers,” says Ashwin Veeravalli, a real estate agent with The Agency who’s sold homes in the area for 13 years. “It’s right down Highway 85, so depending on traffic, it’s a 30- to 50-minute commute to Sunnyvale. It’s also convenient to IBM.” The overall CAP Index Crime Score is 3 out of 10, compared to the national average of 4. While residents may experience traffic noise from state Route 85 and Blossom Hill Road, they benefit from being a short drive from Blossom Valley’s stores and restaurants.

Character-rich ranch-style homes
According to Liborio Millares, a real estate agent with Compass who lives in the area, most houses here are single-family homes with bigger backyards than in nearby neighborhoods. Buyers can also find split levels and Cape Cods.
In May 2024, the median home price was $1.3 million, 21% lower than San Jose’s median of $1.6 million. A three-bedroom ranch-style home can start at $1.1 million, while a four-bedroom split-level can cost $1.6 million.
