A slice of seclusion
In Lundhurst-Rivers End, an imposing collection of oak and willow trees tower over a neighborhood packed with value. This is a slice of Savannah that offers the same feel of seclusion as some other parts of the city, but at prices that are relatively more accessible. Lundhurst-Rivers End adds the benefit of quick access to the Vernon River, retail and dining, and Downtown Savannah. “Not far from the river,” says local Realtor Tommy Danos of ERA Southeast Coastal Real Estate. “Not far from a lot of conveniences.”
Lundhurst-Rivers End homes still standing strong
Most of the houses around Lundhurst-Rivers End were built in the 1940s and 1950s, but many have been well-kept and are still in good condition. These homes are mostly a mix of ranchers, bungalows, Cape Cods and colonials. “A lot of them are three bedrooms, maybe one bath or one and a half baths,” says Danos, who has been selling in the area for well over 20 years. “Maybe between 1,200 and 1,600 square feet. Low profile. A lot of them, though, were very well built — built midcentury, with brick exteriors.” The homes here dot an otherwise leafy landscape and fill well-manicured and spacious lots that often range from one-fifth of an acre to half an acre. The prices in the area start in the high $100,000s and top out around $400,000.
