Rural living on the Coosa River
Though Shelby County is one of the fastest-growing in the country, South Shelby is still mostly countryside along the Coosa River. “We’re known for our high quality of life, great schools and the outdoors,” says Jennifer Maier, Executive Director at the Shelby County Museum & Archives and Shelby Iron Works Park. “Shelby County is blessed with scenic parks and forests; people love living where they can enjoy hiking, fishing, and boating.” Spacious lots give residents a sense of seclusion and privacy, and the community is less than 10 miles away from amenities in Downtown Columbiana.
