Many of the neighborhood residents spend time at David Raines Recreation Center and Park, known as the heart of the neighborhood. The new MLK Community Garden and Park is home to a community garden full of fresh vegetables and plenty of picnic tables for a lunch in the park.

Neighboring the community to the west is the Kansas City Southern Railway.
