Small town near Pennsylvania-Maryland border

Located 4 miles from the Maryland border and about 15 miles from York, Shrewsbury provides small-town conveniences and historic charm. Shrewsbury Borough was founded in 1797, and it's a historic district that has been placed in the National Register of Historic Places. Residents can still see some historic buildings along Main Street, which is also home to many of the area’s local shops and dining options. Proximity to major roads makes this community convenient for commuters.

Blend of old and new

The residential areas of the community are lined with towering, mature trees and single-family homes. Prospective buyers have many options to choose from, whether it’s a split level home with brick accents, a contemporary colonial with plenty of windows to let in natural sunlight, or historic Victorian that was built in the late 1800s. Some homes in the area sit on spacious lots spanning over half an acre, providing plenty of yard space. Real estate prices have stayed pretty consistent throughout the years, ranging from the high $100,000 range for more established homes to $480,000 and above for newer homes. Condominiums and townhomes are also parsed throughout the area, as well as spacious lots that allow prospective residents to build their dream home.

Great place to raise a family. Neighborhoods are clean and neighbors are friendly. Never too much traffic and close enough to larger areas like. York, hunt valley, Harrisburg etc

Shrewsbury has created an amazing life for me so far. i never have to feel endangered and there is so much to do that I can enjoy myself. I live in a safe neighborhood so as a kid I was able to go to my friends' houses and play in the yard without any worry. More recently, Shrewsbury has grown a lot and become a more popular town along interstate 83. Now that I can drive, I am able to go out to eat at many different restaurants and fast food places. There are also many places to become employed and some are unique. It really is the perfect place to grow up in.

It started getting too overpopulated way too fast. Tress cut down and whole shopping centers put up. Doesn't feel much like country life anymore.
